Several
years ago I started working in Century 21 Department Store. It was the summer
after I graduated from college. That January, they started getting rid of some
employees. One of these employees was a man named Frank. Frank was a pretty big
guy. However, once Frank left I saw someone else working in the location where
Frank used to work. I wondered to myself, who is that guy. The next time I was
over in that section of the store, I asked him if he was having fun and looked
at his name tag to find out his name. Apparently I made an impression. He found
me on Facebook and we started talking. Then he asked me to go ice skating the
day after Valentine’s Day. I didn’t think of it as a date, but once he showed
up to our meeting place, I had to change my thinking. He bought me a rose and
said I looked pretty. We had a fun time, even though I was pushed on the ice. Afterwards
we spent hours talking in Columbus Circle. The following week, I invited him to
spend my birthday with me and the week after that, we were a couple.
According
to Roger, he liked my smile which made him want to ask me out. He also said that
his coworkers had to lie to him to get him to ask me out. They told him I had a
crush on him. And apparently there was a bet among his closest friends that
he wouldn’t be able to stay in a relationship. What great friends they are.
Anyway, that’s the story of us.
